Who controls the information
Shia's Imports is responsible for customer information used to operate this storefront, provide quotations, process orders, coordinate delivery, support customers and meet legal obligations in Ghana.
Information collected
- Account details such as name, email and phone number.
- Checkout and delivery details such as city, landmark and instructions.
- Order, selected product, freight, payment status, refund and tracking records.
- Private item-request images and descriptions supplied by the customer.
- Support messages, review content, consent choices, fraud-prevention and security records.
- Technical records needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
Why information is used
Information is used to perform the customer's contract, provide requested support, verify payments, prevent fraud, maintain accounting and audit records, comply with law, and improve service reliability. Promotional messaging requires a separate valid consent and must provide an opt-out; placing an order alone is not treated as marketing consent.
Service providers
We use carefully scoped providers to operate the service, including Clerk for customer authentication, Supabase for database and storage services, Vercel for website hosting, and Paystack for payment processing when enabled. Delivery and communications providers receive only the information reasonably necessary for their service. Payment card or mobile-money credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not stored in the storefront database.
Retention and protection
Commercial, payment, refund and audit records are retained for the period reasonably required for orders, disputes, accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Private request images are not public. Access controls separate public storefront information, customer-owned records, staff operations and server-only provider events.
Customer rights
Subject to Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), a customer may request access to personal data, correction of inaccurate data, objection to certain processing, or deletion where retention is not legally or operationally required. We may verify identity before acting on a request and will explain any lawful limitation.
Cookies and sessions
Essential cookies and similar storage may be used for authentication, cart continuity, security and core website operation. Non-essential advertising or analytics cookies should not be introduced without the required notice or consent controls.
Complaints and changes
Contact us first with a privacy question or complaint. Customers may also contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission. Material changes to this notice receive a new policy version and apply prospectively.
